At the beginning of 2014 George Osbourne revealed information about new pension freedoms in the UK, dubbing them “the most radical changes to pensions in almost a century.”
Pension Advice Glasgow
If you are born on or after 6 April 1951 (male) or, on or after 6 April 1953 (female) your basic state pension will come under the new pensions’ regulations, a “flat rate” of £155 per week, commencing April 6th 2016.
For many people this new state pension will not be enough to enjoy their desired standard of living during retirement which is now likely to last 20 to 30 years, or more.
For those who fall into this category and feel confused or concerned about what these new pension regulations mean for your retirement, you could greatly benefit from speaking with a pension adviser who will help you understand your options.
The best way to ensure you have enough money to enjoy your time post-work is to make regular savings throughout your life. Putting away a little every month can make a massive difference to you later down the line and the sooner you are able to start saving, the less it will cost you to enjoy the lifestyle you desire in retirement.
Once you have made that important step to set up a pension scheme you will need to assess your available pension plan options. This is where Maxim Wealth Management can help.
Our aim as pension advisors is to provide information and pension advice on how you should save for your retirement. We have been providing pension advice (Glasgow and London) since the company was established back in 2001 and are confident in our ability to demonstrate the benefits and downfalls of each option available. Pension schemes are split between those for individuals and those administered by companies on behalf of their employees.
